Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful Scholarship

Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful will award up to five scholarships, with a minimum of $500 each, to students from Gordon County who have volunteered at our events and demonstrate an exceptional commitment to environmental sustainability and/or community beautification.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for consideration for the KCGB Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have attended high school in Calhoun or Gordon County, Georgia, or be a homeschool student who has lived in Gordon County for at least three years.

  • Must have volunteered at, or helped with planning or publicity for, one or more KCGB events, such as KCGB spring or fall recycling events, Adopt-A-Mile litter cleanups, Arbor Day, Rivers Alive partnership river cleanups, tree and flower plantings at city or county facilities, KCGB golf tournament fundraisers, etc. Visit our EVENTS page to find an upcoming volunteer opportunity.

  • Must have plans to attend an accredited college, technical school, apprenticeship program, or have plans to enter the workforce in a field related to environmental sustainability and/or community beautification, or be a current college or graduate student in a related course of study.

  • Must express in a quality essay a commitment to environmental sustainability and/or community beautification.

The application deadline is April 10, 2024.
